Joey Alcorta leads our corporate practice. He has worked with companies of all sizes and stages, from startups to multinational enterprises, and the investors who fund them, including angel, venture capital, private equity and strategic investors. He also has significant M&A experience, both buy-side and sell-side, public and private, as well as capital markets, representing both issuers and underwriters in several public offerings. As such, Joey is able to assist his clients in planning for and successfully navigating various stages of growth and strategic transactions. In addition to his transaction experience, he regularly advises clients on day-to-day matters including corporate governance, securities law compliance, employment, employee benefits and compensation and other matters. His clients have included HomeAway, which he represented from its days as a startup through several rounds of financing and multiple acquisitions, through its IPO and ultimate sale. Other clients have included Bazaarvoice, High Brew Coffee, ROKA Sports, Sweet Leaf Tea, TVA Medical, Upland Software, uShip and Zilliant.

Prior to joining Huggins Reddien LLP, Joey was a partner in the corporate group of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC, a Palo Alto-based law firm specializing in representing technology and emerging growth companies, in its Austin office.

Joey has been recognized by Chambers USA in its Leading Lawyers for Business as well as been named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He also has been actively involved in the Austin community serving on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas, the LBJ Library and Museum Future Forum and the CleanTX Foundation.

Joey received his JD and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and his A.B. from Stanford University.
